The Vortec 350 (L31) produces 255 hp at 4,600 rpm and 330 lbft of torque at 2,800 rpm. That last number, the rpm of the torque peak, is the key to towing.

Changing the spring in the regulator to one of Brian’s springs will adjust the 350 injectors to the proper pressure of 65-72 lb/hr. You guys obviously know your stuff ... WebJun 2, 2015 · The Vortec heads are the best flowing conventional (production) small block heads, so there is plenty of potential left in the stock castings. To exceed 300 horsepower, all we had to do was replace the TBI or CPI induction system with an Edelbrock RPM intake and Holley 650 HP carb (others will work as well at this power level).

The very small COMP 252AH in my engine was good for 260 RWHP through a TH-350, which should be close to 300 flywheel HP. Something like a 290 Hp 350 is a good start. with a Performer and or other aluminum intake . With a set of headers ,2 1/4 exhaust and.god flowing mufflers.
