WebJul 17, 2009 · Putting the Schaller strap lock on the strap itself is a bit easier than the Dunlop though you might have to enlarge the holes on the strap. Also, with Schallers, you need to make sure you tighten the strap lock down nice and tight (so it doesn't loosen up) and I'd recommend some Loctite for extra security. WebNov 9, 2009 · I used to use a leather one that attached one end to the strap and the other to the guitar button. it wasn't good because motions would work the strap button screw loose. Those are not the right kind of strap locks to use with a Rickenbacker bass--the Schaller variety, on the other hand, is a direct fit without any modifications.
